Before you buy

Do my photos go anywhere?

No. Every model runs on your own computer. Photara talks to the internet only to check your licence and to fetch the AI models once when you first install it.

How big a library can it handle?

It was built against a real library of over 200,000 photos and videos on four drives, including 250,000 detected faces. Most software of this kind struggles long before that.

What do I need to run it?

Windows 10 or 11. The AI tools want a graphics card with 8 GB of memory or more; the library, search and people features work on far less. Around 80 GB of disk space for the AI models, downloaded once.

Is it really one payment?

Yes. $199 covers two of your computers and does not expire. Updates within the version you buy are included.

Will it change my original photos?

Never, unless you explicitly ask it to replace a file. Edits save as new copies in a folder you choose, and anything deleted goes to the Recycle Bin.

Can I use it for client work?

Yes, a licence covers commercial use. A few optional add-ons you may choose to install yourself carry their own terms, which Photara shows you before you use them.
